TUSCALOOSA, Alabama—The Auburn track and field team capped off another weekend with a freshman record and 27 new personal-best marks between the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, VA and the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

In Tuscaloosa, freshman Alyssa Quinones-Mixon cleared 4.12m/13-6.25 to break the freshman record and become the second-best performer in program history in the pole vault. The previous record was held by Jessie Johnson at 4.10m/13-5.25 in 2013. Quinones-Mixon already has the indoor freshman record in the event clearing 4.05m/13-3.5 in her collegiate debut at the Clemson Invite.

Fellow vaulters in sophomore Rhiannon Held and junior Lexie Leinneweber cleared personal-best 3.97m/13-0.25 to finish fourth and seventh respectively. Held and Leinneweber better their third and fourth place marks on Auburn's top-10 list.

On the men's side, senior Matthew Asplund finished second in the pole vault clearing 5.30m/17-4.50. Asplund moves up to number four all-time in program history.

Abasiono Akpan continues to dominate in the women's 400m hurdles crossing the line in 57.27 to win the event. Akpan has won three of her last four hurdle races this season. Senior Lalah Hasbrouck finished third in a new personal-best 59.25.

Senior Maura Huwalt took the top spot in the women's javelin throw with a new personal-best 52.99m/173-10 to best her previous mark by six meters. Teammates Shaniya Holley (48.40m/158-9) and Maddie Roberts (43.81m/143-8) were close behind in fourth and sixth place respectfully.

Jeremy Zammit won the men's long jump for the first time this season. Zammit leaped out 7.44m/24-5 for a new season-best. In the men's high jump, senior Dontavious Hill finished ahead of the competition clearing 2.14m/7-0.25.

Other notable performances came by way of Niya Benton-Andrews in the women's 200m dash and Joseph Perry in the men's 5,000m. Benton-Andrews crossed the line in 23.31 for second overall and first among collegiates. Perry ran a strong race finishing Sixth in a new personal-best 14:36.51.

In Charlottesville, distance trio of junior Ryan Kinnane and Carson Bedics, and sophomore Louis O'Loughlin raced to new personal bests. Kinnane improved his best by eight seconds to become number nine in school history while Bedics better his record by more than 20 seconds.

Louis O'Loughlin won the men's 1500m in a new personal-best 3:49.27 to just beat Yale's Owen Karas at 3:49.39.
