FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Auburn graduate student Ami Gianchandani fired an 8-under 64 in her Auburn debut to claim the individual lead at the Mason Rudolph Championship on Friday. She and Megan Schofill, who carded a 66 (-6), led the Tigers to the team lead through 18 holes at Vanderbilt Legends Club.

Auburn leads the event by three shots over Arizona State after recording an opening round 274 (-14), which ties the second lowest team round in program history. The Tigers carded 27 birdies as a team on Friday, which was the most of any school in the field.

"Our team has been working really hard in preparation for this event," Gianchandani said after the round. "I'm happy that it's starting to show. I had a blast playing with my teammates in a tournament for the first time and can't wait for more to come."
