AUBURN, Ala. – In the final weekend of its fall season, Auburn softball hosts Gulf Coast State and Wallace State in a doubleheader scheduled for Sunday at Jane B. Moore Field.
 
Auburn looks to finish the fall season undefeated when it takes on Gulf Coast State at 2 p.m. CT before returning to the diamond to face Wallace State at approximately 4:30 p.m. CT. Gulf Coast State and Wallace State are scheduled to play a neutral game at Jane B. Moore Field at 11:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.
 
"This is our final chance to get on the field and face competition this fall," said head coach Mickey Dean. "We want to finish strong to set ourselves up as we head into November. We only have a few more weeks together as a team before the semester break, so everything we do now is so important to set us up strong for the spring."
 
Admission to all fall softball games at Jane B. Moore Field is free. Light concession options are available for purchase. The 2024 Auburn softball team is slated to participate in an autograph session following the conclusion of Sunday's doubleheader.
 
Auburn's offense was firing on all cylinders last weekend as the Tigers took down Coastal Alabama and Enterprise State in a sweep at Jane B. Moore Field, scoring 38 runs over the doubleheader. As a team, Auburn holds a .395 batting average heading into its final fall weekend and has scored a staggering 79 runs. Eight different Tigers have hit at least one home run this fall while the team holds a .689 slugging percentage at the plate.
 
Junior Annabelle Widra enters the final weekend of the fall season with a team leading .667 batting average. Widra also leads the team with 10 total hits, including a home run, while adding eight runs and seven RBI. Junior Abbey Smith has tallied nine hits in her six starts and leads the team in both runs scored (10) and stolen bases (5).
 
Three Tigers – Makayla Packer, Nelia Peralta and Amelia Lech – are tied for the team lead in RBI with nine each. Packer has totaled seven hits this fall with five extra-base hits to her credit. Lech leads the team with three home runs after knocking a grand slam versus Coastal Alabama. Peralta has added three doubles, tying Packer for the team lead.
 
Relying on its underclassmen in the circle during the fall, Auburn's pitching staff holds a 1.02 earned run average with 54 total strikeouts and a pair of shutouts. Emmah Rolfe leads the staff in innings pitched and has yet to give up a run this fall. The sophomore has struck out 20 and has held opponents to a .125 average at the plate.
 
Widra has a pair of wins to her credit behind 14 strikeouts. Chalea Clemmons and Malayna Tamborra have been strong in their collegiate debuts. Tamborra has earned a pair of wins this fall while Clemmons joins Widra and Rolfe in the double-digit strikeout club.
