GOLF, Ill. – Auburn finished the final round of the Windy City Collegiate Classic at Glen View Club on Tuesday. The Tigers posted a final round of 292 (+4), which led to a 36-hole team score of even-par 864 and a tie for 10th place finish.
"There were some great moments out there today for Anna and Ami," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said after the round. "I know the other girls are disappointed because their play today was not to their normal level. I think we know what we need to work on going forward which will help us be successful in the next events."
Megan Schofill had the best tournament finish for the Tigers, as she placed in a tie for 37th with a 1-under 215 over all three rounds.
In her first event of the 2023-24 season, Anna Foster posted a 1-under 71 in Tuesday's final round which led to a 216 three-day total (E) and a tie for 41st place on the individual leaderboard.
Graduate student Ami Gianchandani posted her best round of the event on Tuesday, carding a 70 (-2). Gianchandani finished the event tied for 59th individually at 220 (+4).
Katie Cranston had the final counting score during the final round with a 5-over 77. She finished in a tie for 63rd individually at 221 (+5) for the tournament.
Casey Weidenfeld had a difficult final round, but her three day total of 220 (+4) was good for a tie for 59th place finish with Gianchandani.
Up next on the schedule for Auburn is the Tar Heel Invitational hosted by North Carolina. The event will be played October 9-10 at the Governor's Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
