NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Auburn track & field junior Simone Johnson took home the gold in women's triple jump Saturday, posting the fifth-best jump in the nation to close out the Tigers' stint at the Vanderbilt Invitational.

Johnson's opening jump of 13.31m was good enough for first place, but on her third jump, she surpassed it with a 13.36m leap to become the No. 5 performer in Auburn history for the event. In her first indoor season as a Tiger, she now holds the top jump in the SEC.

Freshman Brooke Walden tied for first in the pole vault after clearing 3.80m. Not to be outdone by her field teammates, junior Chante Clinkscale finished first in the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.38. She finished fourth in finals (7.41). Junior Danae Nembhard claimed silver in the 60m hurdles final (8.35) after finishing in second during the first round of qualifiers.

Three Auburn throwers placed in the top five for the day. In the shot put, freshman Marley Raikiwasa threw 15.37m, which was good for third place. Raikiwasa was followed closely by sophomore Megan Hague. Hague threw 15.32m on her sixth and final attempt. On the men's side, sophomore Matthew Rueff ended the day in fifth place with a throw of 16.96m in shot put.
