AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team is currently ranked No. 13 in this week's RoadToNationals.com rankings.
The Tigers improved their average to 196.883 after scoring another 197.025 last Friday vs. Florida in Neville Arena. Auburn hits the road this week and will travel to No. 4 Arkansas. The two teams will face off at 6:45 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ in Fayetteville.
"Our ranking this week shows that we are slowly improving," head coach Jeff Graba said. "However, we have a big task ahead of us going on the road to No. 4 Arkansas. We are capable of performing better and we will need to start doing that in order for our ranking to continue to improve."
Oklahoma is at No. 1 with a 198.025 average. California remains at No. 2 at 197.533, while LSU (197.417), Arkansas (197.338) and Utah (197.333) round out the top five. The rest of the Southeastern Conference is among the top 20 – Alabama (No. 6), Kentucky (No. 7), Florida (No. 8), Missouri (No. 9), and Georgia (No. 19).
Auburn's floor squad is ranked 12th nationally with a 49.375 average, while the bars and beam lineups are both ranked 14th. Auburn has a 49.233 average on bars and beam stands at 49.133. The vault team is ranked 19th at 49.142.
Individually, fifth year Cassie Stevens is No. 23 in the all-around with a 39.425 average. She is in the top 50 on floor with a 9.892 average after tying her career high with a 9.925 vs. Florida last week.
Senior Gabby McLaughlin is ranked 16th on beam after scoring a 9.950 on Friday, having a 9.9 average.
