AUBURN, Ala. – Coming off its three-game sweep of Eastern Kentucky, No. 14 Auburn (3-0) faces a quick turnaround before its first midweek contest vs. UAB (2-1) Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Plainsman Park.

"We have four big games this week, starting with UAB" head coach Butch Thompson said. "We'll recap a little bit from the weekend – the positives, the good. You have to celebrate those, that's really important, and then pick out the strategies and techniques you think you can improve upon."
 
The game will be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network and can be heard locally on 94.3 FM. The contest will also be streamed digitally on SEC Network+.

QUICK HITTERS 
Auburn outscored Eastern Kentucky 32-8 in its three-game sweep Opening Weekend.
 
The Opening Weekend sweep was Auburn's first since 2021 and its fourth in nine seasons under head coach Butch Thompson.
 
The pitching staff allowed just two earned runs in the final 23.0 innings of the series (0.78 ERA).
 
Junior left hander Carson Myers was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week after throwing 6.0 scoreless inning and striking out a career-high eight batters in the series finale.
 
Auburn starting pitchers went 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA and recorded 15 strikeouts in 15.2 innings.
 
Graduate shortstop Cooper Weiss stole a program record four bases in the series finale.
 
Auburn stole nine bases as a team - a mark they didn't achieve until Mar. 8 a season ago.
 
Eight players drove in multiple runs and six collected three or more hits Opening Weekend.
 
Chris Stanfield and Ike Irish have each already accounted for the cycle in their first five and four hits of the season, respectively.
 
The Tigers are 54-12 all-time against UAB, including 33-3 at home, and are 9-3 against the Blazers under Thompson.
 
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS 
Led by former Auburn All-American catcher Casey Dunn, UAB enters the week with a 2-1 record after a series win vs. Kennesaw State Opening Weekend.
 
Jake Smallwood led the Blazers offensively, going 6-for-11 (.545) against the Owls, while 2023 leading hitter Logan Braunschweig followed closely behind with five hits and tied for the team lead with three RBI.
 
On the mound, UAB turned in a 5.00 ERA with 25 strikeouts and 15 walks in 27.0 innings. Tuesday starter Christian Clack made a relief appearance over the weekend and allowed two runs in 0.2 innings.

New for 2024, gates open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.

  • Fans must enter Plainsman Park via the main gates located behind home plate or Tiger Terrace.
  • The gate located off Donahue Drive near the right field foul pole is closed due to construction.
  • Those with a reserved ticket or add-on access to the Hall of Fame Club may enter via the exterior glass door located off Donahue Drive.

 
Fans are encouraged to park in the athletics complex parking deck, coliseum lot, Neville Arena lot and stadium parking deck.

  • For 2024, Donahue Drive from the Josh Donaldson Hitting Lab to the Tiger Walk corner of Donahue and Heisman Drive will be shut down from two hours before first pitch through the middle of the first inning and from the top of the seventh inning until the stadium has been cleared of fans.

 
Student seating inside Plainsman Park is in section 111 and Tiger Terrance on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can also access the new Back Forty Deck sponsored by Outdoor Alabama on a first-come, first-served basis via the walkway between the Josh Donaldson Hitting Lab and South Donahue Dorms.
 
For 2024, several concession locations have changed due to construction.

  • There will be no concessions available along the first base side of the ballpark, including Curveball Café and the food vendors located at Plainsman Patio.
  • Ben's Soft Pretzels has moved to the exterior concourse next to the ADA ramp on the third base side of the ballpark.
  • The Sweet Treats stand previously located at Plainsman Patio is now located at the main entry gate next to the ticket booth.
  • The Chick-fil-A stand previously located next at Plainsman Patio is now located in the former promotions booth on the exterior concourse. Chick-fil-A is available for all home games, excluding Sundays.
