AUBURN, Ala. – Starting a stretch of eight games in the next 10 days, No. 14 Auburn hosts UConn for a three-game series at Plainsman Park this weekend. First pitches against the Huskies are set for Friday at 6 p.m. CT, and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.

"They play a certain brand of baseball that they take a lot of pride in," head coach Butch Thompson said of UConn. "They'll play the game extremely well with sound technique and are a very athletic club that'll stretch us.
 
"This schedule that we set forth and wound up creating and are getting to now is going to challenge our ballclub each and every day we step on the field, and UConn will be no different," Thompson added.
 
The games will be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network and can be heard locally on 94.3 FM Friday and Sunday and 100.3 FM Saturday. The series opener and finale will also be streamed digitally on SEC Network+.

Auburn is 5-0 at home this season and has outscored the opponent 51-13.
 
The Tigers have homered in eight straight games to start the season, marking the longest season-opening home run streak since at least 1979.
 
The team's 15 home runs through eight games are the most since 2009 (17).
 
Auburn has stolen 22 bases this season, good for 11th in the country and second in the SEC.
 
The team didn't steal its 22nd base last year until Apr. 6 (30 games).
 
Cooper Weiss leads the SEC and is third in the country with 10 stolen bases.
 
He has set the program's single-game record with four stolen bases twice in his first eight games.
 
The starting rotation of Chase Allsup, Joseph Gonzalez and Carson Myers is a combined 3-0 with a 3.62 ERA through two weekends.
 
The Tigers have allowed more than three runs just once in five home games.
 
Auburn is 1-0 all-time against UConn, defeating the Huskies 7-3 in Port Charlotte, Florida, to begin the 2014 season.
 SCOUTING THE HUSKIES 
Led by 21st-year head coach Jim Penders, UConn has played in game three of the Stanford Super Regional (2022) and won a game in the Gainesville Regional (2023) the last two seasons.
 
The Huskies enter the weekend 2-4, coming off a series at Cal after opening the season with a couple of wins vs. Louisville and USF in the USF Baseball Tournament.
 
Offensively, UConn has scored 27 runs in the first six games and is led by Korey Morton's .393 average.
 
On the mound, Friday starter Garrett Coe has struck out 16 batters in two appearances and Sunday starter Stephen Quigley has turned in a 2.31 ERA in two starts.

New for 2024, gates open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.

  • Fans must enter Plainsman Park via the main gates located behind home plate or Tiger Terrace.
  • The gate located off Donahue Drive near the right field foul pole is closed due to construction.
  • Those with a reserved ticket or add-on access to the Hall of Fame Club may enter via the exterior glass door located off Donahue Drive.

 
Fans are encouraged to park in the athletics complex parking deck, coliseum lot, Neville Arena lot and stadium parking deck.

  • The Neville Arena lot and top two levels of the stadium parking deck will be reserved for basketball fans Saturday.
  • For 2024, Donahue Drive from the Josh Donaldson Hitting Lab to the Tiger Walk corner of Donahue and Heisman Drive will be shut down from two hours before first pitch through the middle of the first inning and from the top of the seventh inning until the stadium has been cleared of fans.

 
Student seating inside Plainsman Park is in section 111 and Tiger Terrance on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can also access the new Back Forty Deck sponsored by Outdoor Alabama on a first-come, first-served basis via the walkway between the Josh Donaldson Hitting Lab and South Donahue Dorms.
 
For 2024, several concession locations have changed due to construction.

  • There will be no concessions available along the first base side of the ballpark, including Curveball Café and the food vendors located at Plainsman Patio.
  • Ben's Soft Pretzels has moved to the exterior concourse next to the ADA ramp on the third base side of the ballpark.
  • The Sweet Treats stand previously located at Plainsman Patio is now located at the main entry gate next to the ticket booth.
  • The Chick-fil-A stand previously located next at Plainsman Patio is now located in the former promotions booth on the exterior concourse. Chick-fil-A is available for all home games, excluding Sundays.
