ATHENS, Ga. – No. 10 Women's golf won the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic for the second consecutive season on Saturday in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers converted their 36-hole lead by firing a 292 in the final round to win the event by 11 shots over Florida.

Individually, freshman Anna Davis had her best finish of the season in a tie for second place at 3-under (213).

"Very proud of our team and the way they fought down the stretch," said Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen. "UGA Golf Course is a demanding test and windy conditions this afternoon made it even more so. Having patience through the middle of the round when things got tight showed real maturity. We really separated ourselves on the last five holes, which is something we practice all the time."

As a team, Auburn finished the event with the best par-4 scoring average, second-best par-3 scoring average and the second-most birdies with 42.

"Overall the week was a great group effort, with everyone contributing to the win. Happy for Anna Davis getting a runner-up this week and another solid top-10 for Anna Foster. We're doing a lot of things well, but still think we haven't had our best stuff yet. Everyone is right on the edge though, which is right where you want to be heading into postseason."

Davis began the third round in seventh place individually and fired a 2-under 70 to finish the event in a tie for second place. The freshman's round was highlighted by birdies on three of her final four holes of the day.

Davis finished second in the field in par-4 scoring over the three rounds at 3-under and recorded 12 birdies, which was just one shy of the most in the field.

Senior Anna Foster recorded her third top-10 finish of the season on Saturday, ending the event in a tie for seventh place at 1-over (217). Foster had a 10-stroke swing between her first two rounds on Friday with a 77 (+5) and a 67 (-5), then carded a 73 (+1) in the final round.

Megan Schofill struggled in her final two rounds, but an opening round 67 (-5) helped her secure a tie for 14th on the individual leaderboard. Schofill had a 54-hole score of 219 (+3) and tied Cydney Clanton for most birdies in program history at 394 after recording seven at the event.

Katie Cranston finished one stroke behind her teammate with a three-round total of 220 (+4) and a tied for 18th place finish individually. Cranston's final round 73 (+1) included three birdies.

Casey Weidenfeld provided the final counting score on Saturday with a 4-over 76. Weidenfeld finished the event in a tie for 40th place at 9-over (225).
The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic was the final regular season tournament on the Tigers' schedule, as the SEC Championship will begin April 12 at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
