CALGARY, Canada – Auburn junior Katie Cranston, sophomore Anna Davis and recent graduate Megan Schofill are each set to compete in the CPKC Canadian Women’s Open at Earl Grey Golf Club in Calgary, Canada, which begins on Thursday.
Cranston, a native of Oakville, Canada, earned an exemption into the event after finishing second at the ORORO PGA Women’s Championship earlier in the month which included a career-low round of 63 (-8). This year will mark her third consecutive appearance in her nation’s championship.
In her second season with the Tigers, Cranston played in 12 events and posted a 73.94 scoring average. She finished in a tie for 11th place at the Lady Bulldog Individual (75, +3) as well as the SEC Championship (212, +2). Cranston also carded 91 birdies and a couple of eagles during the season.
Davis earned second team All-American and second team All-SEC honors this season after participating in all eight of the Tigers’ tournaments this spring. She captured a top-5 finish at the SEC Championship and won low medalist at the NCAA Auburn Regional by three shots at 5-under (211). Davis finished the year with a 71.68 scoring average and four top-10 individual finishes.
The Auburn sophomore made the cut in her only appearance in the CPKC Women’s Open in 2022. She carded a 4-under 280 and finished in a tie for 56th place.
Thursday will mark Schofill’s first appearance in the event. She made headlines in June after receiving low amateur honors at the U.S. Women’s Open in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Schofill finished her collegiate career with a WGCA All-American honorable mention and a second team All-SEC selection in 2023-24. She led the Tigers with a 71.65 scoring average in her final season and holds the lowest career scoring average in program history at 72.01 (minimum 60 rounds).
The four-time All-SEC selection recorded four top-10 individual finishes this season for the Tigers, including a tie for third at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic where she fired a 7-under 209.
The CPKC Canadian Women’s Open, which is an LPGA sanctioned event, will be consist of four rounds played Thursday through Sunday. A cut will be made through 36-holes. Golf Channel will provide live television coverage of the event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. CT on Thursday and Friday. The network will also provide live coverage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring of the tournament will be available online at LPGA.com.
