AUBURN, Ala. — Six members of the Auburn soccer team have been awarded College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors, as announced by CSC Tuesday.

The Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA, have a minimum of one year completed at their current institution and have played in at least 90% of their team's contests from the current season.

Representing the Orange & Blue amongst this year’s honorees are Sammie Brown, Anna Haddock, LJ Knox, Mallory Mooney, Maddie Prohaska and Carly Thatcher.

On the pitch, Brown saved her best for last as she has registered five points on one goal and three assists as one of the Tigers’ two starting center midfielders. In the classroom, she boasts a 3.92 GPA while pursuing a degree in health sciences, securing her second consecutive appearance as an Academic All-District player.

Haddock has also delivered in her final season on The Plains, netting five goals while assisting 13 others for an impressive 23 points. The senior from Bowling Green, Kentucky is the new Auburn career assists record-holder with 44 in her tenure. Earlier this postseason, Haddock was voted the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second season in a row.

Haddock is now a four-time CSC Academic All-District player. She went on to earn Academic All-American honors in 2021 and 2022.

Auburn’s defensive leader, Knox, makes her second consecutive appearance as an Academic All-District member thanks to a 3.94 GPA while studying human development and family sciences. On the field, Knox captained the back line to a single-season record 12 clean sheets, including eight in a row to begin the year. She leads all field players with nearly 1,800 minutes played. The senior from Brentwood, Tennessee chipped in on the offense with two goals of her own, including the opener last match against FIU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Mooney, another 20-match starter for the Tigers, contributed to Auburn’s defensive prowess as the primary right back. The senior from Broomfield, Colorado also banked four goals and four assists for 12 points. While pursuing a double major in management and marketing, Mooney has accumulated a 3.71 GPA. She earns Academic All-District for the second time in her career.

Starting goalkeeper Prohaska earns Auburn’s fifth nod. In between the sticks, Prohaska has allowed just 13 goals in over 1,700 minutes of action for a flashy 0.68 goals-against average. Earlier this season, she broke the program’s career shutouts record. Her 36 clean sheets not only rank tops in Auburn history but third in Southeastern Conference history. The senior from West Chester, Ohio maintains a 3.88 GPA as she works toward a graduate degree in adult education.

Auburn’s sixth and final honoree, Thatcher, has been a sparkplug for one of the most productive offenses in program history. As the Tigers’ other starting center midfielder, Thatcher has scored three goals and assisted six others to earn 12 points. As a student pursuing a degree in biomedical sciences, Thatcher boasts a 3.94 GPA.
