AUBURN, Ala. – Head coach Brent Crouch and the 2025 Auburn Volleyball squad will host the annual Orange and Blue scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. CT inside Neville Arena. Doors open at 1 p.m. CT and admission is free.
Fans of the Orange and Blue will get their first look at the 2025 edition of the Tigers. This year’s roster features a potent mix of veteran returners as well as faces new to the Plains looking to make their mark in the Southeastern Conference.
Crouch returns 10 total players from the 2024 campaign (Lauren Dreves, Kalei Edson, Zoe Slaughter, Emma Moore, Bel Zimmerman, Alexis Dacosta, Grace Havlicek, Jasmine Okeoma, Bella Humphrey and Sydney Handel), including four starters in Dreves, Edson, Moore and Dacosta. Dreves, a sophomore from Vancouver, Washington was a standout for the Tigers as a freshman. She finished second on the team in digs per set (3.13) to starting libero Alexis Dacosta (3.66).
Edson and Moore also featured prominently last season. Edson, as part of a 6-2 in 2024, still managed to notch two double-doubles, including a 19-assist, 14-dig performance against Georgia Southern. Moore’s 1.12 blocks per set during her rookie campaign ranked as the sixth-best single-season average in the rally scoring era in program history.
Five transfers have also found a new home on the Plains. Belle Patrick, Eden Bower, Kate Mansfield, Shanelle Puetz and Liz Markovska have added much-needed depth to the 2025 roster. Patrick arrives from Virginia Tech where the 6-1 outside hitter was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. Bower spent three years at BYU where she helped the Cougars to NCAA Tournament berths in all three seasons. Mansfield posted six double-digit kill performances as a freshman for Cal, including a career-high 16 on .419 hitting against UC Irvine. Puetz’s setting led Florida Gulf Coast to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances over the past two years before she decided to bring her talents to Auburn. Markovska has been a staple in the Cal Poly lineup since she stepped foot on the court. In three years in San Louis Obispo, Markovska has stacked up 720 kills, 648 digs and 78 aces.
Crouch has also brought in four dynamic freshmen. Sunday will be the first time Audrey Nuckols, Baileigh Carlsen, Izzy Orton and Greer Chambless get to suit up in Neville Arena.
Auburn officially kicks off the 2025 campaign on Aug. 29 at Louisville as part of the Cardinal Classic. The Tigers’ home opener is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 3 against in-state foe Troy at 6 p.m. CT.
