AUBURN, Ala. Auburn sophomore center Emeka Opurum will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to a medical condition, head coach Steven Pearl announced Saturday.

“Our priority is Emeka’s health and well-being,” Pearl said. “We look forward to Emeka making a full recovery and returning next season.”

A transfer from Butler Community College in Kansas, Opurum has played in six games this season, averaging 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks a game while playing 9.6 minutes a content.

Auburn (7-3) plays Chattanooga (5-5) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in the annual Holiday Hoopsgiving event. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
