Education: McLendon earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Colorado (1994) and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Florida (1996). 

Job Responsibilities: As Executive Senior Associate AD for Sports Medicine and Performance, McLendon oversees sports medicine, sports performance, and sports nutrition.  She also serves as the NCAA Athletics Health Care Administrator.

Experience: McLendon comes to Auburn from Mississippi State where she was responsible for sports medicine, strength and conditioning, sport psychology, and sports nutrition, while also acting as the sport administrator for the Bulldogs' women’s volleyball team.

McLendon serves as the National Athletic Trainers’ Association liaison to the American Sports and Professional Dietitians’ Association (ASPDA).  She was the winner of the 2020 SEC Chris Patrick Award.  McLendon served as president of the SEC Sports Medicine Committee from 2015-2017 and was the first female to fill this role.   She has been involved with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association as chair of the District IX Women in Athletic Training Committee and Life Balance Project Team, as moderator for the Life Balance Think Tank, and as a member of the Annual Convention Program Committee Project Team.  She was a volunteer at both the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in 2000 and at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.

Personal: McLendon resides in Opelika with her dogs Sam and Jax.
