Education: Shearer earned his bachelor's degree in broadcast news and a minor in history from the University of Colorado in 1988.

Job Responsibilities: In his 34th season covering Auburn, Shearer writes for Auburn Athletics' website and assists with internal and external communications. He also announces Auburn gymnastics meets on the SEC Network and conducts football postgame interviews on the Auburn Sports Network. 

Past Experience: Shearer joined Auburn Athletics in 2016 after serving as Sports Director at WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Alabama. He spent nearly 25 years at the NBC affiliate, anchoring the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. sportscasts while covering local high schools and colleges, including Auburn. Shearer began his sportscasting career at KDUH in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, then worked at KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Personal: A native of Ashland, Ohio, Jeff and his wife, Rhonda, are the parents of two Auburn University graduates, Sara Schiller and Meagan Love. Their sons-in-law, Chris Schiller and Addison Love, are also Auburn University graduates. Jeff and Rhonda have five granchildren.
