Former Auburn team captain Jeris McIntyre joined the football staff in January 2026. He serves as Director of Football & Alumni Relations.

A native of Tampa, Fla., McIntrye returns to The Plains after spending the 2024-25 seasons as Director of High School Relations at UCF.

He entered the college ranks following a long stint as a youth coach and 10-year career as a high school football coach including six seasons as the head coach at Tampa Catholic High School.

McIntrye lettered from 2000-03 for the Tigers and led the team in receiving as a senior in 2003. He was voted a team captain in 2003

He was selected in the sixth round of the 2004 draft and spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004-05. He also had stints in NFL Europe, the CFL and Arena Football.

A second-generation letterman, McIntrye’s father, Secdrick, earned four letters as a fullback from 1973-76. Jeris graduated from Auburn with a degree in education in 2003.
