Education: Stowers attended the University of Alabama and received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2014 and a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition in 2016. She received her Master of Science in Nutrition & Exercise Science from Lipscomb University in 2018 and attained a PhD in Nutrition Sciences from UAB in 2022.
Job Responsibilities: Stowers is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the comprehensive Olympic Sports Nutrition Program at Auburn University.
Experience: Prior to coming to Auburn, Stowers served as the Director of Olympic Sports Nutrition at Wake Forest University from 2023-2024 and as the Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition from 2022-2023. She additionally served as a Minor League Nutrition Consultant for the Chicago White Sox for the 2024 season. While completing her doctoral studies, Stowers was the Director of Football Nutrition at UAB. Stowers' published dissertation is entitled: Contributions of Off-Season Training and Food Security Status on Body Composition and Performance in Collegiate Football Players. Overall, Stowers' resume boasts a plethora of experiences ranging from a dietetic internship to being a former track and field student athlete.
Personal: Stowers, born in Savannah, Georgia, graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island. She is the daughter of Auburn graduates, Tim and Gaye Stowers. Her father coached college football for 35 plus years and also played football at Auburn. Stowers was a member of the Track & Field Team at the University of Alabama. She scored in the SEC Outdoor Championships in the Hammer Throw during her Junior and Senior campaigns in addition to making the SEC Academic Honor Roll for five consecutive academic terms.
