Began at Auburn: Began at Auburn in 2004 as an intern with the football program and stayed on during the 2005 and 2006 season as a graduate assistant. Nielson returned in 2008 full time with Auburn football.

Education: Neilson’s undergraduate work was completed at Central Michigan University earning a degree in Sports Medicine. While working as a graduate assistant Kirk earned his masters in Higher Education.

Job Responsibilities: Nielson serves as an athletic trainer for the football team.

Experience: Kirk began his career in 2004 serving as an intern and graduate assistant at Auburn. He also worked the Softball program in the spring of 2005 during this time. In 2007 Nielson spent a year with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2007 season and also worked with the Georgia Force during this time. He returned to Auburn in 2008 and has been working with Auburn Football since that time. 

Personal: Native of Dansville, Michigan. His wife, Abby, and sons, Brian and Bryce reside in Auburn.
