Coordinated by Dr. Michael Goodlett, who serves as head team physician and chief medical officer, Auburn University Sports Medicine utilizes several allied health care professionals to assist in the overall health care of the Auburn University athletes. These local and regional medical professionals are chosen for their excellence in their practice and commitment to the health and performance of collegiate athletes.
Auburn’s physician staff includes associate team physicians and team physician fellows that oversee the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of all Auburn athletes as well as providing on-site medical coverage at all Auburn Athletics competitions. Dr. Benton Emblom serves as Auburn’s head team orthopedic surgeon. Emblom and his team coordinate and perform all surgical procedures at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
