Education: Ankara received both her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her master’s degree in Coaching and Sports Administration from Concordia University - Texas.  She also completed her second master’s degree in Sports Law and Business from Arizona State University.

Job Responsibilities: Ankara is responsible for providing high level administrative and technical support to the Women’s basketball department and head coach. 

Past Experience: Prior to her stint with WBB, Ankara worked in Athletics with Tigers Unlimited Foundation as the Administrative Support Specialist. Ankara began working in the administration field over twenty-five years ago.  She has worked in Human Resources and Hospital Administration.  She provides a wealth of knowledge in business and has prior experience of working in sports.  She was the Founder and Coach for Triple Threat AAU basketball for four years and has continued to help athletes pursue and accomplish their goals.  Her passion and knowledge in sports has been an attribute to many athletes. 

Personal: The Temple, Texas, native has a daughter, Ketara Chapel, who is an assistant coach for Auburn Women’s basketball and a son, Kiron.  She is a former athlete who played basketball at the University of Texas – San Antonio where she still ranks in the Top 10 in career rebounds for freshmen at UTSA (1992-1994).  She continues to provide consultation services for student-athletes and their families.

In her spare time, Ankara enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and coaching/teaching basketball.  She hopes to become a certified agent in sports.
